A Pride Poppy for Remembrance Sunday
In the UK, the second Sunday in November is Remembrance Sunday. It's the Sunday nearest to Armistice Day; November 11th, when the first World War ended.
The Royal British Legion says "Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life."
Today, my thoughts are with the queers who defended freedom when it was illegal for them to do so, and those who serve today despite the hate from people they defend.
And don't let anyone convince you the queers don't belong at Remembrance, because the Royal British Legion welcomes you with open arms.

This badge symbolises support for our LGBTIQ+ community who are a vital part of our Armed Forces past and present. By wearing this badge, you are showing your solidarity with those who have faced discrimination or marginalisation due to their sexual orientation or gender identity, particularly those who served under the Ban, when it was illegal to be gay, lesbian or bisexual in the Armed Forces. The Intersex-Inclusive Pride Flag was created by Valentino Vecchietti, an award-winning intersex equality campaigner, providing a symbol of hope and acceptance for all LGBTIQ+ individuals around the world.

And if anyone tells you flags and logos don't belong on the poppy, I'll bet you real money they don't mind the football and rugby pins, do they?
