Yep, new antennas improve MeshCore range
I upgraded my MeshCore repeater on Exeter quay, Gaussian, and my personal node with a couple of Nelawya 3dbi antennas — and hell yeah, good decision!
It’s tough to tell if the line-of-sight range has improved because I can’t walk any further away than I’ve already tried, but a ton of the small gaps in coverage between buildings are gone now.
I’ll probably wait to upgrade my Exmouth repeater, Hazbin, until after I’ve done one more survey with the stock antenna. I’d love to really demonstrate the improvement, and it’ll have to wait until Friday.
