You probably don't want a LilyGo T-Deck Plus
I got a LilyGo T-Deck Plus last year when I was mucking around with Meshtastic. I liked Meshtastic, but I hated the T-Deck.
I pulled it out of storage this morning to flash the MeshCore firmware, but yeah: I still hate it.

The keyboard sucks. There's no horizontal gap between the keys, with just a little bump to differentiate them. It's unpleasant, unintuitive, and you will typo.
It's laggy. The touchscreen is unresponsive and the trackball sucks. For sure, the technology packed into the thing for the price I paid is incredible, but it's not great to use.
The great honking reset button on the left-hand side. The thing reboots if you pick it up wrong. The thing reboots if it bumps against anything in your bag. Sure, I could snip the wire -- but you can tell it's a development board forced into a mobile product rather than mobile product first and foremost.
If I could design my own standalone MeshCore device, I definitely wouldn't be afraid to make it a little wider to accommodate a better keyboard. And I'd be willing to pay double for a processor that's up to the task. And if I can dream, make it waterproof and rugged too.
Maybe the newer T-Decks have nicer keyboards, I don't know. I don't think I'll risk my money to find out. But here's to dreaming!
